6/14/21 Action Item / Request

Good evening, over the last several CDD meetings the topic of the round-a-bout planning for Gateway Blvd and Griffin Dr has been discussed. Lee County DOT will be completing plans for this project soon in conjunction with the CDD. At the 6-3-21 meeting during public comment one of the Supervisors gave his estimate of approximately 15 oak trees to be removed from this area to make room for the intersection.

Since Lee County DOT reports to the Lee County Commission, I think as many of us as possible reach out via phone or e-mail to our County Commissioners and let them know we want as few oaks removed as possible. Also, when planning for new trees to be planted, they replace with as many oak trees as the intersection will allow. There is a Commission meeting Tuesday 6-15-21 at 09:00am. The Commissioner for Gateway is District 2, Cecil Pendergrass, but we vote for all of them because of the "at large" nature of the commission.
